If we look honestly at Nigeria's political history, both Atiku Abubakar and Goodluck Ebele Jonathan are among the few leaders who have proven track records of goodness, tolerance, and capacity. Whoever wins between them will be a blessing to Nigeria.

ATIKU ABUBAKAR - THE MERIT OF ECONOMIC EXPERIENCE

Atiku's goodness is in his economic understanding. As Vice President from 1999 to 2007, he was the head of the National Council on Privatization. He successfully privatized many dead government companies and brought GSM to Nigeria. Before GSM, a SIM card was N40,000. After Atiku's reforms, it became N100. That is a proof of his goodness to the common man.

He is also a detribalized Nigerian who has built businesses that employ thousands of people directly, and he has never been associated with religious extremism.

GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN - THE MERIT OF PEACE AND DEMOCRACY

Goodluck Jonathan's goodness is in his democratic spirit. He is the only president in Nigeria's history who lost an election and handed over power peacefully without violence. He said his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian. That single act saved Nigeria from war and proved his love for peace.

Under Jonathan, Nigeria became the largest economy in Africa after the rebasing. Under Jonathan, there was freedom of speech, no political prisoner was kept in detention for months with impossible bail conditions, and the rule of law was respected. He also created the Almajiri schools to help the poor get education.

CONCLUSION

Both men have their merits with proofs. Atiku has the merit of economic revival, job creation, and national unity. Jonathan has the merit of peace, tolerance, and respect for democracy.
